All, The Tech Services department at CCPL has taken over ILL for our library and we are experiencing a funding shortage for shipping costs. So far this FY (Jul '23-Mar '24) we have spent approximately $12,000 mailing ILLs. We have reached the point where we will have to suspend sending requests until our next quarter deposit in April. I'm curious if other libraries are experiencing this problem or if you have systems in place that help you keep your shipping costs in check. We currently charge $2 for our patrons to borrow from another library but the high costs for us is the amount of items we send out, which is about 4x as much. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
