Good afternoon!
Our libraries in Converse County recently started offering free
interlibrary loans for our patrons (yay!). I just wanted to check in to see
what other libraries have in place for offering this service for free.
Do you have any limits on the number of interlibrary loans a patron
can request?
If so, is this a limit for how many they have at a time? Or overall
requests for within a month or within a year?
If you have limits, how do you track and enforce them?
Are your limits just on free ILLs? Do you offer additional ILLs at a
charge after a limit is reached?
Do you charge patrons for ILLs that are not picked up? If so, how much
do you charge?
Do you accept or encourage donation of funds towards ILL services?
Are your patrons able to request their own ILLs through
Enterprise/WYLDcat? Or are all ILL requests generated by staff?
Are there any other tips you'd like to share? Or policies you have in
place that make life easier when it comes to ILLs?
Thank you in advance for your help! I look forward to hearing how other
libraries offer ILL services.
Have a great day,
Jennifer
