  1. Not all pre-orders will show up in Libby, even when they show up that we've ordered them in Marketplace and we can see them via the Virtual Library website.

Here's Rob's answer when I asked him about this a couple weeks ago - (I am sending this out now because it came up again yesterday.)
Libby is compatible with certain file types. Sometimes with pre-orders we will receive some of the file types (enough to pre-sell and add on OD app sites). However, we don't receive the files necessary to upload some pre-orders to Libby until closer to release date.

Our developers are looking into solving this with some conversation methods, but that is a longer term project. For now, some titles will not show up as pre-orders in Libby until release date or shortly before it.

  1. And since I'm sending out an email, Libby is not compatible with any title that requires Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) (ePub books - for example "Rocky Mountain Getting Started Garden Guide" - ADE does not work with the original Overdrive app or the Libby App. I'm not sure how many titles we have in the collection since a couple weeks ago was the last time it came up. Even though the Overdrive FAQs on their support site says it will work with the original app, it does not. Cynthia Dawn Hughes discovered this and she and I had back and forth emails with Rob. It's also something that is in the "looking at solving" queue.

I would suggest that if you come across this issue to email Rob (maybe not every time, each organization once is probably enough) - just so they know it's impacting more than 1 or 2 libraries.

Happy Fall!
Thanks, Kate
