Good morning,
Many libraries create on-the-fly records for ILLs borrowed from
out-of-state libraries, so they are able to check out these items to their
patrons. We noticed that these items were showing up in the "New" browse
categories for Aspen sites. In order to prevent this from happening, we
suppressed the locations "ILL" and "ILL_DEPT" in Aspen. This Freshdesk
article lists other suppressed and shadowed locations in Aspen:
https://wyldlibraries.freshdesk.com/a/solutions/articles/61000304274
Since we have suppressed "ILL" and "ILL_DEPT", libraries have contacted us
regarding using cards associated with these locations to check out items
that they lend out-of-state. Because libraries are using patron profiles,
such as FDILL for these purposes and others, we may need to rethink how we
handle these locations in Aspen.
I am hoping you can help us out by letting us know how you are using
library use accounts with the following profiles:
FDILL (location ILL)
ILL (location ILL)
LL (recirculating, location ILL_DEPT).
We appreciate your help and have a wonderful Thanksgiving!
Katie
